The British Isles are a group of Islands in North-West Europe to the west of continental Europe collectively known as Great Britain. It is made up of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England. It is surrounded by three seas - English channel, North sea and the Atlantic ocean. It is a very diverse place with many different accents and landscapes from the hilly Yorkshire dales to the sandy beaches of Cornwall. The climate is very changeable from North to south - the winters are very cold but a summer in the south of the country can be as hot as the Mediterranean.
