Italian holiday

Italy is situated in southern Europe on the Italian Peninsula. It also has two of the largest Islands in the Mediterranean - Sardinia and Sicily. It shares its borders with Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland and France across the Alpine/ skiing area of the country. Its capital city Rome is responsible for much of our architecture and way of life that we know today dating back to the days of the Roman Empire. It is steeped in history and culture and holds so many of the world best kept historical buildings, artifacts and wonders of the world such as the 'colosseum', the 'Pantheon', the canals of Venice, the 'leaning tower of Pisa' and Pompei amongst so many others. The climate at times can be quite diverse depending on where you are in the country. The southern most areas experience typical Mediterranean weather in the summer but can be cold and wet during the winter. Northern inland areas such as Milan can feel quite humid. Italy is a place to holiday whatever time of the year because of its magnificent sights and landscapes and skiing in Alpes during the winter.
